Fauré Piano Quartet in C minor, Op.15
Chopin Prelude arr. Adam Starr *
Schumann Kinderszenen arr. Adam Starr *
Fauré’s C Minor Piano Quartet was written as the composer recovered from an ill-fated love affair. Robert Schumann’s Piano Quartet also abounds with unrestrained emotion. For these works we are joined by internationally recognized violist Caroline Henbest for an evening of Romantic music-making. Regular Freshwater collaborator Adam Starr, whose music is infused with eclectic influences and prodigous humour, is the featured arranger.

Kerry Piano Trio No.2 ‘Im Winde’ (2000) *
Brahms Piano Trio in C minor, Op.101
Chopin Prelude arr. Chindamo *
Schumann Kinderszenen arr. Chindamo *
Named for its evocation of the Ghost from Hamlet, this work is a well-deserving favourite. We are honoured to be performing Gordon Kerry’s recent piano trio, Im Winde alongside Brahms’ turbulent Trio in C Minor. ARIA award-winning jazz pianist Joe Chindamo is the featured arranger.
Concert Three

Montsalvat Barn Gallery
Beethoven Piano Trio in E flat, Op.1 No.1
Piazzolla Four Seasons of Buenos Aires
Dvorak Dumky for Piano Trio, Op.90
In the idyllic surrounds of Montsalvat, we present Beethoven’s first published offering: his E flat Trio is a delightful companion to Dvorak’s Dumky Trio, both works offering a perfect balance of melody, humour and charm. Also on the program is the master of Argentine tango nuevo, Astor Piazzolla and his toe-tapping ‘Four Seasons of Buenos Aires’.
Concert Four
MRC Wednesday December 1 @ 6pm
Mozart Piano Trio in B flat KV 502
Ravel Piano Trio in A minor
Chopin Prelude arr. Neil Kelly *
Schumann Kinderszenen arr. Neil Kelly *
A work of stunning depth and orchestral colour, Ravel’s Piano Trio is a masterpiece incorporating Malaysian poetry and Basque dance rhythms, set against the brooding backdrop of the gathering clouds of war. Mozart’s B flat trio oscillates between simplicity and virtuosity – highlighting his genius at the keyboard. Best known for his work with internationally acclaimed art/music group Slave Pianos, Neil Kelly will be joining Freshwater Trio for an exciting new collaboration.
